Mooney is an American maker of single-engine piston airplanes, based in Kerrville, Texas. Its airplanes are low-wing, with a retractable landing gear and a slim cabin that seats four, and the M20 is the family name it is best known for. The M20 has been built in many versions, some with turbocharged engines for flying at higher altitudes. Mooney airplanes are bought mainly by private owners for personal travel, and they are far smaller than the airliners that fill most of this guide.
