MD11 is the ICAO type code for every MD-11, the passenger airliner as well as the MD-11F freighter, so a flight filed as MD11 could in principle be either. KLM ended its MD-11 passenger flights in 2014, and the MD-11s seen in US airspace now fly cargo. Both versions have the same three-engine layout, one engine under each wing and one in the tail, and the same size: 202 ft 2 in long with a 170 ft 6 in wingspan.
These are flights filed as MD11 (MD-11 or MD-11F): one type code covers both, so they can include either.
