Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor
The F-22 Raptor is the Air Force's air dominance fighter: a twin-engine stealth aircraft that combines low observability, supercruise, thrust-vectoring nozzles and integrated avionics. It grew from the Advanced Tactical Fighter competition, in which the YF-22 won in 1991, and it was built by Lockheed Martin with Boeing. The aircraft carries its missiles and bombs in internal bays, and it can cruise faster than sound without using afterburner. Only one version, the single-seat F-22A, was built, and the Air Force's published numbers for it are listed here.
