Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a compact, single-engine multirole fighter, built to give the United States and its allies a high-performance weapon at a low cost. It is light, highly maneuverable, has a bubble canopy and fly-by-wire controls, and can take nine g. The first F-16A flew in 1976, and the F-16C and two-seat F-16D are the later versions, with newer cockpit controls and displays. A consortium of the United States and four NATO countries built the first ones. This site lists the F-16C/D, which ICAO files under the type code F16.
