Boeing KC-46A Pegasus
The KC-46A is the Air Force's newest tanker. Two Pratt and Whitney 4062 turbofans of 62,000 pounds of thrust each take it off at weights up to 415,000 pounds. Its fuel capacity is 212,299 pounds, and its refueling gear is a fly-by-wire boom, a centerline drogue and optional wing pods, all worked by the boom operator, who sees the receivers on panoramic displays. The cargo deck takes 18 pallets, up to 65,000 pounds, or 58 passengers, and seat tracks let it carry pallets and seats together. The first flight was in December 2014 and the first delivery, to McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas, in January 2019.
