Boeing C-17 Globemaster III
The C-17 Globemaster III is the US Air Force's main airlifter for both long-range strategic and short-field tactical cargo: a four-engine, high-wing jet with a T-tail and winglets that carries outsize loads and still lands on short, narrow, austere strips. It made its first flight in 1991 and entered the Air Force inventory in 1993, and the Air Force ended with a fleet of 223. Only one version is listed here, the C-17A, flown by the Air Force, the Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve. The page gives its published dimensions, performance and which services fly it, from the Air Force's own fact sheet.
