Turkish Airlines Miles and Status Miles Calculator

How this calculator works

Choose your airports and your booking class. The calculator measures each flight's great-circle distance with the same airport data as our Great Circle Distance Calculator and multiplies it by the class rate. If that comes to less than the class minimum, the flight earns the minimum. A flight with both airports in Türkiye earns a fixed number of Miles instead, whatever the distance. Choose Round trip to count the same flights back the other way, and add the Status Miles you already have to see how far you are from the next tier.

What the inputs mean

• Airports: where you fly from, where you fly to, and any connections (add a connection for each extra flight). Each flight earns on its own.
• Booking class: the letter on your ticket. International flights earn from 25% (W, P, F, U) to 150% (C, D) of the distance on a Classic card. Turkish Airlines has no First class: F is an Economy class.
• Your Turkish Airlines tier: Classic Plus, Elite and Elite Plus cards earn 175% in C and D (at least 1,750 Miles) and 160% in K, J and Z (at least 1,600), instead of 150% and 135%. Economy and flights within Türkiye earn the same on every card.
• Credit this flight to: you can credit the flight to United MileagePlus or Aeroplan instead of Miles&Smiles. Minimums and flights within Türkiye

Every international flight earns at least the minimum for its class: 1,250 Miles in Y and B, 1,000 in M, H, S, E, Q, A and O, 500 in T, L, V and G, 250 in W, P, F and U, and 1,500 (C, D) or 1,350 (K, J, Z) in Business on a Classic card. Within Türkiye a flight earns 600 Miles in Y to O, 300 in T to G, 150 in W to U, 1,250 in C and D and 1,000 in K, J and Z. Turkish Airlines measures distance in IATA ticketed point mileage, which can differ a little from the great-circle distance. It does not publish its rounding; this calculator drops fractions of a mile on each flight.

Status Miles and tiers

Turkish Airlines counts the Miles you earn on flights as Status Miles; Bonus Miles do not count. It also says Classic Plus, Elite and Elite Plus members earn 25% extra Status Miles in Business, but not whether the higher Business rate is flight Miles or Bonus Miles, so this calculator shows Status Miles at the Classic rate, minimums included. Your status upgrades automatically when you have 25,000 Status Miles in the preceding 12 months (Classic Plus, or 40 flights excluding award tickets), 40,000 (Elite) or 80,000 (Elite Plus), and lasts 2 years. Classic Plus brings Star Alliance Silver benefits, Elite and Elite Plus Star Alliance Gold.

Examples

Turkish Airlines' own example: an Elite member flying Istanbul to Los Angeles (6,855 miles) in K earns 6,855 x 1.60 = 10,968 Miles. On a Classic card the same flight earns 9,254 Miles (6,855 x 1.35), which is also the Status Miles this calculator counts for the Elite member. A short international flight, under 1,000 miles, in M earns the 1,000-Mile minimum. Ankara to Istanbul in M earns the fixed 600 Miles, so Ankara to New York via Istanbul in M earns 600 plus the Istanbul to New York distance.
