Malaysia Airlines Enrich Points and Elite Points Calculator
Unofficial. See the Enrich Points and Elite Points a Malaysia Airlines ticket earns. Rates as published by Malaysia Airlines.
Malaysia Airlines pays Enrich Points on the fare in Malaysian Ringgit (1.5 to 2.5 per Ringgit by tier) and Elite Points, which decide your tier, at a fixed number per flight by distance zone and cabin. Choose your airports, connections included, and the calculator finds each flight's distance.
How this calculator works
Enter the fare of your Malaysia Airlines ticket in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR; RM100 and MYR 100 both work) and choose your airports. Enrich Points are the fare times your tier's rate. Elite Points are fixed per flight: the calculator measures each flight's great-circle distance with the same airport data as our Great Circle Distance Calculator, puts it in one of Malaysia Airlines' seven distance zones and looks up the Elite Points for your cabin. Elite Points are worked out only for flights to or from Kuala Lumpur (KUL); see Elite Points and zones below. Choose Round trip to count the same flights back the other way. Add the Elite Points you already have this calendar year to see how far you are from the next tier.
What the inputs mean
- Ticket fare: the whole ticket, in Malaysian Ringgit: the base fare plus the fuel surcharge and administration charge, without government taxes and fees; Malaysia Airlines says the base fare excludes discount vouchers and online promo codes, so leave out any amount a voucher or promo code paid. Malaysia Airlines converts a fare paid in another currency at an internal rate on the day the ticket is issued and does not publish that rate, so this calculator does not convert; use the MYR amount from your receipt.
- Airports: where you fly from, where you fly to, and any connections (add a connection for each extra flight). Each flight earns its Elite Points on its own.
- Cabin: Economy, Business Class or Business Suite.
- Your tier: sets the Enrich Points per Ringgit: Blue 1.5, Silver 1.8, Gold 2.2, Platinum 2.5 (from 1 January 2026).
- Credit this flight to: you can credit the flight to American AAdvantage, Atmos Rewards, Flying Blue or British Airways Club instead of Enrich. Choose one to see what the flight earns there, by route and booking class, with your status in that program. The full tables: American AAdvantage on Malaysia Airlines, Atmos Rewards on Malaysia Airlines, Flying Blue on Malaysia Airlines, British Airways Club on Malaysia Airlines.
Enrich Points
On flights operated by Malaysia Airlines, and Malaysia Airlines marketed flights operated by Firefly, Enrich Points are the eligible fare in Ringgit times your tier's rate, with no minimum. Malaysia Airlines' own example: a Blue member who spends RM100 earns 150 Enrich Points. Malaysia Airlines does not say how it rounds, so the calculator rounds down. Flights operated by other airlines, and connections with oneworld or partner airlines, earn by distance and booking class instead; the tables for those are on the Malaysia Airlines earning page and are not calculated here. Booking classes U, I, W, E, X and T earn no Enrich Points, and neither do charter, award and staff tickets.
Elite Points and zones
Elite Points count toward Silver, Gold and Platinum. Malaysia Airlines sets them by zone (the flight's distance in miles) and cabin: Economy earns 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 10 in zones 1 to 7, Business Class 2, 4, 6, 10, 12, 15 and 15, and Business Suite 3, 6, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 20. The zones are under 500 miles, 501 to 1,200, 1,201 to 2,200, 2,201 to 3,500, 3,501 to 5,500, 5,501 to 8,000 and over 8,000. Malaysia Airlines' table names the cities in each zone around Kuala Lumpur and does not say how a flight that does not touch Kuala Lumpur is zoned, so the calculator works out Elite Points only for flights to or from Kuala Lumpur and shows any other flight as not worked out (the Enrich Points, which come from the fare, are not affected). It also tells you when a flight is close to a zone edge. The fare does not change the Elite Points, and bonus points and points you buy do not count.
Tiers
In a calendar year (1 January to 31 December), Silver needs 35 Elite Points, Gold 70 and Platinum 140. Points above the requirement carry into the next year, up to 18 (Silver), 35 (Gold) or 70 (Platinum), once. Silver is oneworld Ruby, Gold is Sapphire and Platinum is Emerald.
Examples
A Gold member paying RM860 for Kuala Lumpur to London in Economy earns 1,892 Enrich Points (860 x 2.2) and 10 Elite Points (zone 6). Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong, about 1,600 miles, is zone 3: 4 Elite Points in Economy, 6 in Business Class and 8 in Business Suite.
