Lufthansa Group Miles & More Calculator
Unofficial. See the award miles, Points, Qualifying Points and HON Circle Points a Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian or Brussels Airlines flight earns with Miles & More. Rules as published by Miles & More.
Award miles come from the fare you paid, in euros. Points, Qualifying Points and HON Circle Points are fixed per flight by cabin and by whether the flight stays on one continent. Add the airports of your trip, including connections, and the calculator works out each flight.
How this calculator works
Enter the fare of your ticket in euros and the airports of your trip in order, for example Zurich, Munich, Bangkok for a connection in Munich. The calculator looks up each airport's country with the same airport data as our Great Circle Distance Calculator, decides whether each flight is continental or intercontinental, and adds up the Points. Choose Round trip to count the same flights back. Add the Points and Qualifying Points you already have this year to see how far you are from the next tier.
What the inputs mean
- Fare in euros: the whole ticket, base fare plus the surcharges the airline adds, without government taxes and airport charges. Miles & More converts other currencies to euros itself; this calculator does not convert.
- Which tickets earn by fare: tickets bought from a Lufthansa Group airline, and agency tickets whose number starts with 220 (Lufthansa), 724 (SWISS), 257 (Austrian), 082 (Brussels Airlines) or 101 (Air Dolomiti), or Eurowings tickets. A ticket issued by another airline earns by booking class instead: a fixed number of miles within Europe and a share of the distance elsewhere, shown in the Lufthansa fare chart. This calculator works out the fare method; the Points are the same either way.
- Flights: the airports in the order you fly them. Each flight between two airports counts once. You can also type the number of continental and intercontinental flights yourself.
- Continental or intercontinental: a flight is continental when both airports are on the same continent, domestic flights included. Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia count as Europe. For a country on two continents, such as Turkey or Russia, Miles & More does not say which one counts, so the calculator asks you to choose. Israel, Jordan and Lebanon are counted as Asia, which Miles & More does not confirm. You can override any flight.
- Cabin: Economy, Premium Economy, Business or First. The whole trip in one cabin.
- Status: Frequent Traveller, Senator and HON Circle members earn 6 award miles per euro instead of 4.
- Operated by: Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines earn the same with Miles & More.
- Credit this flight to: you can credit the flight to United MileagePlus or Aeroplan instead of Miles & More. Choose one to see what the flight earns there, by route and booking class, with your status in that program. The full tables: United MileagePlus on Lufthansa, Aeroplan on Lufthansa, United MileagePlus on SWISS International Air Lines, Aeroplan on SWISS, United MileagePlus on Austrian Airlines, Aeroplan on Austrian Airlines, United MileagePlus on Brussels Airlines, Aeroplan on Brussels Airlines.
Points per flight
Continental: Economy 20, Premium Economy 20, Business 40, First 40. Intercontinental: Economy 60, Premium Economy 80, Business 200, First 400. Each flight earns the same number of Points and Qualifying Points, and in Business and First the same number of HON Circle Points.
Status
Status is earned in a calendar year. Frequent Traveller needs 650 Points and 325 Qualifying Points, Senator 2,000 Points and 1,000 Qualifying Points, and HON Circle 6,000 HON Circle Points. Qualifying Points and HON Circle Points come only from flights of the Lufthansa Group and Miles & More's co-issuing partners; other Star Alliance airlines earn Points only.
Example
Zurich to Bangkok nonstop in Business on SWISS earns 200 Points, 200 Qualifying Points and 200 HON Circle Points. Via Munich it earns 240 of each: 40 for the continental flight to Munich and 200 for the intercontinental flight to Bangkok. A €2,000 fare earns 8,000 award miles without status, or 12,000 with status.
