Iberia Club Avios and Elite Points Calculator

How this calculator works

Enter the fare of your Iberia ticket in euros and choose your airports. Avios are the fare times your tier's rate. Elite Points are 1 per euro of the same fare, plus Extra Elite Points per flight: the calculator measures each flight's great-circle distance with the same airport data as our Great Circle Distance Calculator, puts it up to or over 3,000 miles and looks up the extra for your cabin and fare. Choose Round trip to count the same flights back the other way. Add the Elite Points and flights you already have to see how far you are from the next tier.

What the inputs mean

• Ticket fare: the whole ticket, in euros: the fare and carrier charges, without taxes and fees. Iberia converts a fare paid in another currency at the IATA rate on the day the ticket is issued; this calculator does not convert.
• Airports: where you fly from, where you fly to, and any connections (add a connection for each extra flight). Each flight earns its Extra Elite Points on its own.
• Cabin: Economy, Premium Economy (long haul) or Business.
• Fare: the fare brand on your booking: Basic (Economy only, no Extra Elite Points), Optimal, Comfort or Flexible. On the Madrid-Barcelona Air Shuttle, choose Comfort or Flexible. Executive is left out because Iberia's Extra Elite Points table does not list it.
• Your tier: sets the Avios per euro: Clásica 5, Plata 6, Oro 7, Platino 8, Platino Prime 9. Infinita and Infinita Prime are not offered: Iberia does not publish their Avios rate.
• Credit this flight to: you can credit the flight to Atmos Rewards instead of Iberia Club. Choose one to see what the flight earns there, by route and booking class, with your status in that program. The full tables: Atmos Rewards on Iberia.

Air Shuttle and Latin America

The Madrid-Barcelona Air Shuttle earns one more Avios per euro (Clásica 6 to Platino Prime 10) and its own Extra Elite Points (Comfort 150 and Flexible 200 in Economy, Flexible 300 in Business). The calculator uses both only when every flight on the ticket is Madrid-Barcelona: a Madrid-Barcelona connection on a longer ticket is sold in that ticket's fare, so it earns the normal up-to-3,000-mile row. Flights operated by Iberia from or to Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean (not Puerto Rico) and South America earn two more Avios per euro (7 to 11), and Business over 3,000 miles earns 450, 550 or 600 Extra Elite Points. When a ticket mixes a Latin America flight with others, the calculator uses the Latin America rate for the whole fare and says so.

Distance bands

Extra Elite Points depend on whether a flight is up to 3,000 miles (short and medium haul, 3,000 included) or over 3,000 miles (long haul). Iberia measures its own distance, which can differ from the great-circle distance by a few miles, so a flight close to 3,000 miles can land on either side; the calculator says when a flight is that close.

Tiers

Between 1 April and 31 March, Plata needs 3,500 Elite Points or 20 flights, Oro 7,500 or 40 flights, Platino 20,000 or 90 flights, and Platino Prime 30,000 Elite Points. Qualifying flights carry an IB or I2 code and are not paid entirely with Avios. Infinita (400,000 Elite Points since joining) and Infinita Prime (640,000) are lifetime tiers.

Examples

An Oro member paying €860 (after taxes and fees) earns 6,020 Avios, Iberia's own example. Madrid to London in Economy Flexible adds 150 Extra Elite Points; Madrid to New York JFK in Economy Comfort adds 225; Madrid to Bogotá in Business Flexible adds 600.
