Copa Airlines ConnectMiles Calculator

Unofficial. See the ConnectMiles miles, qualifying miles and qualifying segments a Copa Airlines flight earns. Rates as published by Copa Airlines.

Copa Airlines pays miles on the distance flown times the percentage for your fare family, with a minimum of 500 miles, and a PreferMember bonus on top. Choose your airports, connections included.

How this calculator works

Choose your airports and your fare family. The calculator measures each flight's great-circle distance with the same airport data as our Great Circle Distance Calculator and multiplies it by the fare family's percentage. A flight earns at least 500 miles. Qualifying miles equal the miles earned, and each flight adds the fare family's qualifying segments. Choose Round trip to count the same flights back the other way, and add the qualifying miles and segments you already have this calendar year to see how far you are from the next PreferMember status.

What the inputs mean

  • Airports: where you fly from, where you fly to, and any connections (add a connection for each extra flight). Each flight earns on its own.
  • Fare family: Economy Basic earns 50% of the distance and half a qualifying segment; Economy Classic and Classic Flex 100% and 1 segment; Economy Full and Business Promo 175% and 2 segments; Business Full 300% and 2 segments. Copa Airlines does not publish booking class letters for these families, so the calculator asks for the fare family.
  • Booking class G, I, N, P, X or Z: Copa Airlines says these classes do not earn miles or segments. Choose Yes if your ticket is in one of them.
  • Your PreferProgram status: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Presidential PreferMembers earn a bonus of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% on Copa Airlines and Copa Airlines Colombia flights. The bonus does not count toward status.
  • Credit this flight to: you can credit the flight to United MileagePlus, Aeroplan or Flying Blue instead of ConnectMiles. Choose one to see what the flight earns there, by route and booking class, with your status in that program. Minimum and rounding

Copa Airlines says all members earn a minimum of 500 miles. This calculator applies it to each flight, for award miles and qualifying miles alike. Copa Airlines does not say how the PreferMember bonus is based or how it rounds; this calculator takes the bonus percentage of the miles earned on each flight and drops fractions of a mile. Copa Airlines also publishes a qualifying miles table by route, which may differ a little from the great-circle distance used here.

Qualifying miles, segments and status

A PreferProgram status for 2026 needs either qualifying miles or qualifying segments between 1 January and 31 December, plus at least four paid segments flown on Copa Airlines: Silver 20,000 miles or 20 segments, Gold 40,000 or 35, Platinum 70,000 or 65, Presidential 90,000 or 85. Qualifying miles and segments also come from Star Alliance partner flights, which this calculator does not count. Copa Airlines can change these criteria at any time.

Example

A Classic ticket from Panama City to Miami (about 1,481 miles) earns 1,481 miles, 1,481 qualifying miles and 1 qualifying segment. A Gold PreferMember on the same ticket also earns a 50% bonus of 740 miles, for 2,221 award miles and still 1,481 qualifying miles. A 498-mile flight in Classic earns the 500-mile minimum.
