Finnair Avios and Tier Points Calculator

Unofficial. See the Avios and tier points a Finnair flight earns on the fare you paid. Rules as published by Finnair.

Finnair Plus pays the same number of Avios and tier points for each €1 you spend: 6 (Basic), 7 (Silver), 8 (Gold), 9 (Platinum) or 10 (Platinum Lumo). Silver needs 15,000 tier points, Gold 45,000, Platinum 80,000 and Platinum Lumo 300,000.

How this calculator works

Enter the fare you paid for the whole ticket in euros and any travel extras, then pick the kind of flight and your Finnair Plus tier. The calculator multiplies the spend by your tier's factor. Avios and tier points come out the same. The result updates as you change an answer.

What the inputs mean

  • Fare paid: the base fare for the whole ticket, without most taxes, fees and charges, plus any airline surcharge (shown as "Extra fee" in the price breakdown). If you paid in another currency, such as GBP or SEK, Finnair converts the spend into euros before it calculates.
  • Travel extras: the total price of travel extras bought for Finnair flights. They earn at the same rate as the fare. Extras bought with codeshare flights or award flights earn nothing.
  • Flight: Finnair flights are numbered AY0001-AY2000 and AY7001-AY7500. Codeshare flights (AY2501-AY7000) booked from 3 June 2025 earn on the base fare and surcharge only.
  • Your tier: Basic, Silver, Gold, Platinum or Platinum Lumo at the time of flying. It sets the factor.
  • Credit this flight to: you can credit the flight to American AAdvantage, Atmos Rewards or British Airways Club instead of Finnair Plus. Choose one to see what the flight earns there, by route and booking class, with your status in that program. The full tables: American AAdvantage on Finnair, Atmos Rewards on Finnair, British Airways Club on Finnair (excluding Nordic Regional Airlines codeshares AY8100-AY8700).

How Avios and tier points are earned

Finnair flights earn on the money you spend, multiplied by a factor for your tier: 6 per €1 for Basic, 7 for Silver, 8 for Gold, 9 for Platinum and 10 for Platinum Lumo. You collect an equal number of Avios and tier points. There is no minimum and no route bonus. The Finnair fare chart lists the ticket types by cabin.

Tier points count in a personal 12-month tracking period that starts when you join, and reset to zero after each period. Silver needs 15,000, Gold 45,000, Platinum 80,000 and Platinum Lumo 300,000, of which 250,000 must come from Finnair flights. A new tier lasts for the rest of the tracking period plus the next 12 months.

Example

A Gold member who pays €1,000 for a Finnair ticket earns 8,000 Avios and 8,000 tier points. With €100 of travel extras on the same trip, both rise to 8,800.

What it does not cover

Award flights and onboard purchases earn nothing. Codeshare flights booked before 3 June 2025, and flights where Finnair has no revenue information, earn by ticket type and distance flown instead. Leisure flights (AY2001-AY2500) and tour operator packages earn a fixed amount per one-way flight. Flights on American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, Japan Airlines and other partners earn by their own tables. Finnair's earning page covers those.
