Aerolineas Argentinas Aerolineas Plus Calculator
Unofficial. See the Aerolineas Plus miles an Aerolineas Argentinas flight earns, with progress toward Oro, Platino and Diamante. Rates as published by Aerolineas Argentinas.
Aerolineas Argentinas pays miles on the distance flown times a percentage that depends on the first letter of your fare basis and on the zone of the flight: domestic, regional or international. There is no minimum per flight. Choose your airports, connections included.
How this calculator works
Choose your airports and the first letter of your fare basis. The calculator measures each flight's great-circle distance with the same airport data as our Great Circle Distance Calculator, decides whether the flight is domestic, regional or international, and multiplies the distance by the percentage for your letter in that zone. Choose Round trip to count the same flights back the other way, and add the qualifying miles and segments you already have to see how far you are from the next Elite tier.
What the inputs mean
- Airports: where you fly from, where you fly to, and any connections (add a connection for each extra flight). Each flight earns on its own, at the rate for its own zone. Aerolineas Argentinas lists rates only for flights to or from Argentina.
- First letter of your fare basis: the fare basis is a code on your electronic ticket receipt. Its first letter sets the percentage, for example Y earns 100% domestic and 125% regional or international, and J earns 150% regional and 200% international. Aerolineas Argentinas does not say which letters are Economy, Premium Economy or Business, so the calculator asks for the letter. Some letters are not listed in every zone (J, I, D and C have no domestic rate), and F, O, P, X and Z are in no table.
- Your Aerolineas Plus status: used to show your next tier. Aerolineas Argentinas refers to extra miles for Oro, Platino and Diamante members but publishes no percentage, so the calculator adds no bonus.
- Qualifying miles and segments (optional): your totals for the last 12 months on Aerolineas Argentinas and SkyTeam flights. This trip is added to them.
- Credit this flight to: you can credit the flight to Flying Blue instead of Aerolineas Plus. Choose one to see what the flight earns there, by route and booking class, with your status in that program. The full tables: Flying Blue on Aerolineas Argentinas.
The three zones
Domestic is a flight with both airports in Argentina. Regional is a flight between Argentina and Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay or Colombia. International is a flight between Argentina and the Dominican Republic, Mexico, the United States or a country in Europe. An older Aerolineas Argentinas page also names Aruba; the current page does not, so this calculator does not price it. Any other flight, including one that does not touch Argentina, is not in Aerolineas Argentinas' tables, and the calculator says so instead of guessing. The airline says its percentages apply to the actual distance flown and does not publish its rounding; this calculator uses the great-circle distance and drops fractions of a mile on each flight.
Elite status
Oro needs 25,000 qualifying miles, 30 qualifying segments, or 15,000 miles and 15 segments in the last 12 months. Platino needs 50,000 miles, 60 segments, or 30,000 miles and 30 segments. Diamante needs 70,000 miles, 80 segments, or 40,000 miles and 40 segments. Oro and Platino also have an option with bank miles from Aerolineas Plus credit cards, which is not calculated here. A segment counts even when it earns 0 miles, but status extras and promotional miles do not count as qualifying miles. The progress bar counts qualifying miles; the note beside it also checks the segment options.
Examples
Buenos Aires (EZE) to Miami is about 4,424 miles, so fare basis Y earns 5,530 miles (125%), W earns 6,636 (150%) and J earns 8,848 (200%). Aeroparque (AEP) to Ushuaia is about 1,480 miles within Argentina: Y earns 1,480 (100%), U earns 1,110 (75%) and Q earns 370 (25%). Aerolineas Argentinas publishes no worked example; these follow its percentages.
