Air India Maharaja Club Calculator
Unofficial. See the Maharaja Points and Tier Points an Air India flight earns on the fare you paid. Rules as published by Air India.
Air India pays Maharaja Points for each INR 100 of base fare plus fuel surcharge: 6 at Red, 8 at Silver, 9 at Gold and 10 at Platinum. Tier Points are 6 per INR 100 at every tier. Air India Express counts the base fare only.
How this calculator works
Enter the fare in Indian rupees, then pick the airline and your Maharaja Club tier. The calculator multiplies the fare, in hundreds of rupees, by your tier's rate for Maharaja Points and by 6 for Tier Points. The result updates as you change an answer.
What the inputs mean
- Fare paid: in Indian rupees, the base fare plus the fuel surcharge (YQ) for Air India, or the base fare alone for Air India Express, without taxes and fees. Air India does not publish how it converts a ticket sold in another currency, so enter the rupee amount.
- Airline: Air India or Air India Express. Air India Express earns from travel on or after 22 May 2026.
- Maharaja Club tier: Red, Silver, Gold or Platinum at the time of flying. The tier changes Maharaja Points but not Tier Points.
- Booked directly: bookings on the Air India website or app add 2 Maharaja Points per INR 100 on Air India flights. The bonus adds no Tier Points.
- Tier Points so far: optional, used only for the progress toward the next tier.
- Credit this flight to: you can credit the flight to United MileagePlus or Aeroplan instead of Maharaja Club. Choose one to see what the flight earns there, by route and booking class, with your status in that program. The full tables: United MileagePlus on Air India, Aeroplan on Air India.
How Maharaja Points and tiers are earned
Air India does not say how it rounds or whether a flight has a minimum, so this calculator applies no minimum and rounds down to whole points. The fare is prorated across the flights of a ticket and each flight is calculated separately. Air India says the points shown by its own calculator are tentative.
A tier needs Tier Points earned in the last 365 days, including a minimum on Air India or Air India Express flights: Silver 15,000 (4,500 on Air India or Air India Express), Gold 30,000 (9,000) and Platinum 45,000 (13,500). You can qualify by flights instead: 20, 45 or 60 flights, including at least 4, 8 or 12 on Air India or Air India Express; Air India does not say what counts as a flight for this option. Maharaja Points do not count toward a tier. The Air India chart lists the Star Alliance partner earning table.
Example
A Gold member who books an Air India flight on the Air India website with a base fare plus YQ of INR 10,000 earns 900 Maharaja Points plus a direct booking bonus of 200, for 1,100. The Tier Points are 600.
What it does not cover
Award flights, upgrade awards and complimentary vouchers earn nothing. Flights operated by Star Alliance partners earn by distance and booking class, with 1 Tier Point for every 2 Maharaja Points, and are not calculated here. The minimum Tier Points on Air India flights are not counted. Air India earn points page, the Maharaja Club FAQ and the terms cover the rest.
