Air France-KLM Flying Blue Miles and XP Calculator

Unofficial. See the Flying Blue Miles and XP an Air France or KLM ticket earns. Rates as published by Flying Blue.

Flying Blue pays Miles on the fare in euros (4 to 9 per euro by level) and XP per flight by cabin and distance band. Choose your airports, connections included, and the calculator finds each flight's band.

How this calculator works

Enter the fare of your Air France or KLM ticket in euros and choose your airports. Miles are the fare times your level's rate. XP are counted per flight: the calculator measures each flight's great-circle distance with the same airport data as our Great Circle Distance Calculator, finds its distance band and looks up the XP for your cabin. Choose Round trip to count the same flights back the other way. Add the XP you already have to see how far you are from the next level.

What the inputs mean

  • Ticket fare: the whole ticket, in euros: the base fare plus the carrier-imposed surcharge, without government taxes and airport charges. Flying Blue converts a fare paid in another currency itself; this calculator does not convert.
  • Airports: where you fly from, where you fly to, and any connections (add a connection for each extra flight). Each flight earns XP on its own.
  • Airline: Air France or KLM. Both earn the same; La Première is Air France only.
  • Cabin: Economy, Premium, Business or La Première. XP do not depend on the booking class.
  • Your level: sets the Miles per euro: Explorer 4, Silver 6, Gold 7, Platinum 8, Ultimate 9.
  • Credit this flight to: you can credit the flight to Delta SkyMiles or Flying Club instead of Flying Blue. Choose one to see what the flight earns there, by route and booking class, with your status in that program. Distance bands

Domestic is a flight with both airports in the same country. Other flights are Medium (under 2,000 miles), Long 1 (2,000 to 3,500), Long 2 (3,500 to 5,000) or Long 3 (over 5,000). Flying Blue measures its own distance, which can differ from the great-circle distance by a few miles, so a flight close to a band edge can land on either side; the calculator says when a flight is that close.

Levels

Silver needs 100 XP, Gold 180 and Platinum 300 within a 12-month qualification period. Ultimate is the top level and needs 900 UXP, earned only on flights marketed by Air France or KLM. The XP used to reach a level are deducted, and Elite members carry over surplus XP up to 300.

Examples

Frankfurt to Amsterdam in Economy is a Medium flight, 5 XP; Amsterdam to New York JFK in Economy is Long 2, 10 XP: 15 XP in all. Nice to Paris CDG in Business is Domestic, 6 XP; Paris CDG to Tokyo Narita in Business is Long 3, 36 XP: 42 XP in all. A Gold member paying €500 earns 3,500 Miles.
