Air Canada Aeroplan Points and SQC Calculator

Unofficial. See the Aeroplan points and Status Qualifying Credits (SQC) an Air Canada ticket earns. Rules as published by Air Canada.

Since January 1, 2026 Air Canada pays on the fare, not the distance: 1 Aeroplan point per C$1, multiplied up to 6 times by your status, and 2 or 4 SQC per C$1 depending on the fare brand. Basic earns points but no SQC.

How this calculator works

Enter the fare you paid for the whole ticket in Canadian dollars, then pick the fare brand and your Aeroplan status. The calculator multiplies the fare by the points rate for your status and by the SQC rate for your fare brand. Add the SQC you already have this year to see how far you are from the next status. The result updates as you change an answer.

What the inputs mean

  • Fare paid: the base fare plus carrier-imposed surcharges for the whole ticket, in CAD, without government taxes and airport fees. A round trip is one fare, so enter the total. If you paid in US dollars or another currency, Air Canada converts the amount to CAD at an industry-standard rate; enter the CAD amount if you know it.
  • Fare brand: Basic, Standard, Flex, Comfort, Latitude, Premium Economy or Business, as shown on your booking.
  • Aeroplan status: the status you hold when you fly. It multiplies the points, not the SQC.
  • Credit this flight to: you can credit the flight to United MileagePlus instead of Aeroplan. Choose one to see what the flight earns there, by route and booking class, with your status in that program. The full tables: United MileagePlus on Air Canada.

How Aeroplan points and SQC are earned

Every fare brand, Basic included, earns 1 Aeroplan point per C$1. The Elite Points Multiplier raises that to 2 points per C$1 for 25K, 3 for 35K, 4 for 50K, 5 for 75K and 6 for Super Elite.

On tickets issued by Air Canada (ticket number starting 014), Standard fares earn 2 SQC per C$1 and Flex, Comfort, Latitude, Premium Economy and Business earn 4 SQC per C$1. Basic earns no SQC.

Status

Aeroplan Elite Status is earned with SQC in a calendar year: 25K needs 25,000 SQC, 35K 35,000, 50K 50,000, 75K 75,000 and Super Elite 125,000. Super Elite is the top tier. Aeroplan also gives milestone perks every 10,000 SQC.

Example

A 25K member on a C$1,000 Flex ticket earns 2,000 Aeroplan points (1,000 base points plus a 1,000-point 25K bonus) and 4,000 SQC. The same member on a C$300 Basic ticket earns 600 points and no SQC.

What it does not cover

Air Canada flights on tickets not issued by Air Canada earn 2 SQC per C$1 in Economy and 4 in Premium Economy or Business. Star Alliance partner flights on partner tickets earn by distance, and Air Canada Vacations packages earn a fixed number of points. The Air Canada fare chart lists those rules.
